Day 01: Chandigarh to Narkanda
Pickup from Chandigarh and drive towards Narkanda, a peaceful hill town known for its apple orchards and mountain charm. Arrive at your hotel by late evening, check-in, and relax after your journey. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Narkanda.
Day 02: Narkanda to Sangla/Chitkul
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive towards Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border. En route, if time permits, visit the ancient Bhimakali Temple in Sarahan. Spend some quality time soaking in the charm of Chitkul village before heading to your hotel for the night. Overnight stay at Chitkul or Sangla.
Day 03: Sangla – Chitkul – Kalpa
Post breakfast, take in the morning sun and head again to Chitkul, one of the most scenic settlements in the valley. After enjoying the serene beauty of Chitkul, proceed towards Kalpa. On arrival, visit the Sue-Side Point on Kalpa Roghi road and witness the majestic views of the Kinner Kailash range. Relax in the evening and enjoy dinner at your hotel. Overnight stay at Kalpa.
Day 04: Kalpa – Gue – Tabo
Continue your journey along the famous NH 22. Watch the lush greens of Kinnaur slowly transform into Spiti’s high-altitude barren beauty. After a quick halt at Puh, visit the village of Gue to see the 500-year-old mummy of a Lama. Later, proceed to Tabo — known for its ancient monastery and spiritual ambiance. Explore the Tabo Monastery, a UNESCO heritage site, and unwind for the night. Overnight stay at Tabo.
Day 05: Tabo – Dhankar – Pin Valley – Kaza
Start your day with a visit to Dhankar, the former capital of Spiti, perched dramatically above the confluence of Spiti and Pin Rivers. Explore the historic 1200-year-old monastery before heading to the beautiful Pin Valley. Visit Kungri Gompa and the remote village of Mudh, the last motorable village in the valley. Continue your drive to Kaza, the main town of Spiti. Overnight stay at Kaza.
Day 06: Kaza – Key – Langza – Hikkim – Komic – Kaza
Today, discover the world's highest inhabited villages. Start with the iconic Key Monastery, followed by Langza – known for its fossil-rich terrain and ancient temple. Then head to Hikkim to post a letter from the world’s highest post office, and finally visit Komik – Asia’s highest village. Engage with the locals and explore the unique culture of Spiti before returning to Kaza for an overnight stay.
Day 07: Kaza – Kibber – Chicham – Kunzum La – Chandratal
Begin your day with a visit to Kibber, a charming village at 4205m and a base for high-altitude treks. Drive to Chicham and cross the stunning Chicham Bridge, Asia’s highest. From here, pass through Kunzum La at 15,000 ft and pay respects at the Kuzum Mata temple. Continue to Chandratal Lake, a crescent-shaped high-altitude lake known for its vivid blue waters. Overnight stay at a camp near Chandratal.
Day 08: Chandratal – Atal Tunnel/Rohtang – Manali
After breakfast, begin your descent from Chandratal towards Manali via the famous Atal Tunnel or Rohtang Pass. Stop at Batal for tea and Chatru for lunch. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you reach Manali by evening. The evening is free for leisure or local exploration on your own. Overnight stay at Manali.
Day 09: Manali – Chandigarh
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Chandigarh. Enjoy the scenic drive through Himachal’s valleys and hills. Reach Chandigarh by evening where your memorable Spiti Valley expedition ends with stories, photos, and unforgettable moments.
